Do’s
- Whether to reprint a PAN card or to make any corrections and or changes, you can use Request for New PAN Card Or/ And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data form for above purposes.
- Use black ink while filling an application and make it block English letters to avoid any error.
- Use 3.5cmX2.5cm sized recent color photograph and paste it on the application.
- Make sure your signature is within the box only.
- Don’t forget to mention your correct PAN number.
- Get your thumb impression attested by Gazetted Officer like a Magistrate, Notary Public or any such official with official seal and stamp on the application form to make your thumb impression it authentic in all respects.
- Add Proof of Address (POA), Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Date of birth (PODB with the application form meant for Individuals & HUF Karta applicants as prescribed by the Income Tax Rules, 1962 for Rule 114 (4) to process applications.
- It is a must that application form’s and submitted documents’ name matches exactly in terms of POI, POA and PODB to avoid application rejection.
- Tick those columns where you require changes.
- Attach proof which supports requested change details you want.
- Mention complete postal address alongside landmark while filling an application.
- The address filed must carry correct pin code.
- Add email and telephone number details.
- You shouldn’t forget to attach PAN proof like a Xerox copy or allotment letter for PAN that Income Tax Department had issued to you with the application for processing.
Don’ts
- Overwriting, making corrections on data in application form leads to its rejection so avoid it.
- Stapling or pinning of photograph isn’t permitted.
- Sign inside the box provided by ensuring that it doesn’t go across the box.
- There is no use of providing POI, POA and PODB for names not mentioned an application.
- Avoid writing initials in the signature box like mentioning date, rank and designation are useless and not required. Keep in mind to mention father’s name in a column instead of your husband’s name.
- The first and last name filed shouldn’t carry initials so avoid using them.
